Tips on safety

Guard Your Anonymity
It is very important not to reveal your phone number, email address, home address, work location or any personal details about yourself. Keep this information secret until you know the person well enough and feel comfortable giving it out. Even then we recommend a conservative approach to what you give out and always err on the side of caution. If in doubt, do not give it out and trust your instincts!

Get A Picture
We recommend seeing at least one photo of the person before you even think of meeting them. Not only will it give you a good idea of the person's appearance it will also be helpful in getting a gut feeling of your potential date. If they are not forth coming with a picture and make excuses, be very wary. This is usually not a good sign and can mean they have something to hide. Photos can be scanned then put on to a floppy disk or a CD at most high street printers and it only costs a couple of pounds. There is no excuse!

The Big Meeting
The first time you meet someone in person, tell someone where you're going, meet in a public place and take a friend along if at all possible. They can always sit somewhere discreet until you feel comfortable to give a secret signal to be left alone. We also recommend getting a friend to phone you within an hour of the meeting time, just in case it's a disaster and a quick excuse is needed to leave early. Never worry or feel embarrassed about your behavior. Your safety is much more important than the person's opinion of you.
