What is Swinging?

Swinging is a lot more than just a bunch of people getting together for some casual sex, believe it or not! Swinging is a lifestyle for most who do it and the community is one that encourages honesty, open communication and sexual pleasure between consenting adults. Like any other civil community; there are certain rules and regulations that you are expected to play by  and respect is always to be shown and expected.

There are different types of swinging that cater to the comfort levels of those involved and they range from soft play to hardcore as follows:

Soft Swinging: Ideal for those just testing out the scene; this involves watching other couples with no expectation to join in. This can also include some touching and even oral sex, but no intercourse.

Closed Swinging: This is for couples who are fine with swapping partners and having sex with others but prefer to not actually see their partners with the other person and therefore have sex in different rooms  or areas out of view of their spouse or partner.

Open Swinging: This is for couples that swap partners and when having sex with others and have no problem doing so in the same room or even on the same bed.

Hard Swinging: For those looking to push boundaries; hard swinging is usually groups of  couples having sex in the same area where everyone is free to join in and play. This can also be known as an orgy.

When you first begin your journey into swinging, you will be amazed to discover how friendly and open other swingers are. These are people who look out for each other and respect other people. They are interested in sexual freedom and exploration and the pleasure that comes from sexual openness as opposed to being people who are just out to get their rocks off with no regard for anyone’s satisfaction but their own. Swinging is not about your own sexual release but about giving others pleasure as well and helping them to explore their wants and desires and reach ultimate satisfaction too.

If you’re attending a swinger’s party or an event at a swingers club, there are rules that you will be required to follow and these generally include:

  1. Maintaining your cleanliness and hygiene—enough said.
  2. Practice safe sex. This also requires no further explanation.
  3. No means no. The limits of other must be respected at all times and under no circumstances are you to try to pressure or force anyone to have sex with you.
  4. Always ask if you can join in, even when at a party for hard swinging. Never touch anyone without their consent.
  5. Be discreet. Even if you have no qualms about others knowing that you’re into swinging; this may not be the case with the people that you party with. Respect their privacy at all times.

If you take the time to understand the lifestyle and use common sense and courtesy, you will be able to get the most enjoyment out of swinging.
